Know what's inside.

Point your camera at any product — a moisturizer, a snack bar, a shampoo. Ingreview pulls every ingredient off the label, explains it in plain language, and tells you what matters — for your skin, your diet, and what you avoid.

A note on language. Ingreview is a label-reading assistant, not medical advice. Evaluations are based on label text, public sources, your preferences, and community experience. For pregnancy, allergies, or dermatological conditions, please consult a professional.

How it works

From a blurry photo of an ingredient list to something you can actually use.

Most labels are tiny, curved, multilingual, and packed with INCI names. Ingreview was built to handle exactly that — locally, on your phone, in under three seconds.

01
Snap

Snap the label

One photo of the ingredients panel. No barcode required — long-tail brands work too.

02
Extract

OCR & cleanup

On-device text recognition. AI fixes OCR mistakes — you can review and edit before analysis.

03
Match

Match the ladder

Every ingredient is matched against CosIng, SCCS, EFSA, FDA and your personal profile.

04
Decide

See the breakdown

A clear attention level — never a moralistic label. Plus alternatives if you want them.

Personalization

Your profile, not somebody else's.

Tell Ingreview about your skin, your diet, your allergens, and how you live. Every scan you ever do — past and future — re-evaluates against that profile, instantly.

A single attention score can't know whether you have eczema, whether you're pregnant, whether you keep tree-nuts out of the house, or whether you've sworn off fragrance after a reaction. Ingreview asks — and then quietly applies it to every product you'll ever scan.

  • 50+ filters you'll actually use

Skin type, food allergens, diet, ingredient avoidance, lifestyle, life-stage modes — and you can save your own custom flags.

  • Every past scan re-evaluates

Add "Gluten" to your avoid list at noon — by 12:01, every snack you've ever scanned is re-flagged. No re-photographing anything.

  • Family profiles, baby mode, pregnancy mode

One household, many skins. Switch profiles in two taps — Ingreview re-scores the shelf accordingly.

  • Stays on your device

Your profile lives locally. We use anonymized signals to improve the dictionary — never tied to you, never sold to a brand.

The evidence ladder

One ingredient. Five distinct signals. Never mixed into a single misleading score.

Most apps reduce a complex molecule to a number out of 10. Ingreview keeps the layers separate — so you can see why something is flagged, not just that it is.

Why Ingreview

Built for understanding, not for fear.

A different posture on a familiar problem: explain, contextualize, personalize — never moralize.

Camera-first, not barcode-first

Long-tail brands, drugstore unknowns, that bottle your sister-in-law bought in Italy. Anywhere there's a label, Ingreview reads it.

Five-layer evidence ladder

Regulatory, scientific, personal, community, confidence. We show you each layer — and never blend them into one single score.

Profiles that mean something

Skin type, food allergens, diet, baby mode, pregnancy mode — every analysis personalizes around you, not a generic user.

Community, kept separate

4.3 stars from a tree-nut-allergy parent means something different from 4.3 stars overall. We surface the slice that matches your profile — and never mix experience with science.

Confidence, on the label

If OCR was blurry, or 4 ingredients couldn't be matched, we'll tell you. No fake certainty — you'll know exactly how much to trust the result.

Plain language, every entry

"Cocamidopropyl Betaine" doesn't tell you anything. "Gentle cleansing surfactant." "Carrageenan, a seaweed-derived thickener." Every ingredient — cosmetic, food, household — rewritten in plain language.

Community

Built with users who actually care about what's on their shelf.

Every scan, rating, and sensitivity report makes the next person's decision a little easier. No advertisers, no sponsored ingredients.

"I used to take photos of every product and Google ingredients one by one — moisturizers, snack bars, my kid's shampoo. Ingreview gives me my weekends back, and finally explains why things I keep reacting to are rated 'attention needed' by my profile."

FAQ

Honest answers to the questions you'd actually ask.

Got something we haven't covered? hello@ingreview.app

Why don't you give a single "safety score" like other apps?

Because it's misleading. An ingredient's effect depends on concentration, formulation, application area, and your individual sensitivity. We show five separate signals — regulatory, scientific, personal, community, and confidence — so you can see why something needs attention, not just that it does.

Does it work without a barcode?

Yes — that's the whole point. Ingreview reads the ingredient panel itself, so long-tail brands, niche imports, and products unlisted in databases all work. Barcode lookup is supported as a faster path when available.

Do you share my scan history or profile?

No. Personal preferences stay on your device. Aggregated, anonymized signals (a product being scanned, a sensitivity tag) help everyone — but they're never tied to your identity, sold, or shared with brands.

Is Ingreview medical advice?

No. We're a label-reading assistant. We explain what's in a product, surface known regulatory and scientific context, and respect your preferences. For pregnancy, allergies, or any dermatological condition, please consult a professional.

What languages do you support?

English first, with hand-curated explanations for every ingredient. Turkish, Spanish, French, German, and Japanese are in active rollout. INCI inputs work regardless of label language.

What's the difference between free and Premium?

Free gives you 3 scans per day, the full evidence ladder, community ratings, and your last 5 scans. Premium unlocks unlimited scans, product comparison, full history, family profiles, advanced filters, and curated weekly lists.

Do you take money from brands?

No. No sponsored ingredients, no paid placements, no affiliate links inside scan results. Ingreview is funded entirely by Premium subscribers — that's the only way trust holds up over time.

Cosmetics, food, or both?

Both — if it has an ingredient list, Ingreview can read it. Cosmetics, personal care, food, beverages, supplements, household products. Each category uses the right reference frameworks (CosIng/SCCS for cosmetics, EFSA/FDA for food additives) so the evidence stays appropriate.
